The forever dapper Bryan Ferry has a new solo album titled Olympia on the way, which is good news. But what makes the upcoming album even better is the guest list of artists joining the Roxy Music singer.
Check this group of a-listers: super producer Nile Rodgers, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Groove Armada, Scissor Sisters, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.
The October 25th release of Olympia cannot get here soon enough!
The guest list of artists joining Ferry is great, but for many, like myself, this is the real gem of the story: the release of Olympia finds Ferry reunited with Roxy Music bandmates Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay and Brian Eno for the first time, seriously(!), since Roxy Music’s awesome album For Your Pleasure in 1973.
The album features eight new songs, including Ferry’s adaptations of Tim Buckley’s “Song To the Siren” and Traffic’s “No Face, No Name, No Number.”
The first single, “You Can Dance,” will be released on August 9.
In the meantime, the style icon that is Bryan Ferry will join Roxy Music to headline the Lovebox Festival on July 17.
Olympia is the follow-up to Dylanesque, which was released in 2007.
